ROLL CALL Present: Barbara Brenner, Satpal Sidhu, Rud Browne, Barry Buchanan, Ken Mann, Pete Kremen and Carl Weimer Absent: None COMMITTEE DISCUSSION Weimer stated that discussion of agenda item one may take place in executive session pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(g), discussion of agenda item two may take place in executive session pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(b), and discussion of agenda items three and four may take place in executive session pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i). Executive session will conclude no later than 7:00 p.m. If the meeting extends beyond the stated conclusion time, he will step out of the meeting to make a public announcement. 1. DISCUSSION REGARDING INTERVIEW PANEL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FILLING THE COUNCIL'S LEGISLATIVE ANALYST VACANCY AND POSSIBLE SELECTION OF TOP CANDIDATE TO PURSUE FOR THE POSITION (AB2015- 043) Attorney Present: None Weimer stated staff and councilmembers interviewed a number of applicants recently. They will go into executive session to talk about the specific person and qualifications. Mann moved to go into executive session until no later than 7:00 p.m. to discuss this agenda item pursuant to the RCW citation as announced by the Council Chair. The motion was seconded. The motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: Sidhu, Brenner, Browne, Buchanan, Mann, Kremen and Weimer (7) Nays: None (0) (Clerk's Note: The Council went into executive session until 6:18 p.m.) Weimer moved to accept the recommendation of the interview panel and present applicant Forrest Longman with an offer of employment as the Whatcom County Council's legislative analyst. The motion was seconded.
