29 Susan Marks, Bel ling ham /Whatcom County Commission Against Domestic Violence
30 Director, described their history, areas of responsibility, community awareness, funding,
31 County staff who are members of the Commission, and the goals and initiatives of their
32 strategic plan.

34 The councilmembers discussed whether performance measures show their level of
35 success; outreach to minority communities, including minority representation on the
36 Commission; society's efforts to emphasize the stigma of domestic violence; mandated
37 reporting requirements, and; how domestic violence is monitored.

45 Mike Morse, Morse Steel Service Owner, submitted and read from a presentation (on
46 file) regarding metals distribution and manufacturing and their customers and employees.

48 The councilmembers discussed the company's service to stock, store, and deliver"
49 materials and parts for their customers, the company's location, local distribution and retail,
50 configuration management and value -added services, onsite manufacturing expertise, the
51 industry's challenges, how the County can improve the business environment, doing
52 business in Canada, and whether Morse Steel can manufacture products from engineered
53 designs.

Sidhu moved to approve the grant application.
The councilmembers discussed the opportunity to draw money for body -worn
cameras, recidivism reduction, pretrial reform, indigent defense, and improving mental
health services.

4. REQUEST APPROVAL FOR THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE TO ENTER INTO A

ZONE DISTRICT AND US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS FOR BERTRAND CREEK
LEFT BANK REPAIR, IN THE AMOUNT OF $377,200 WITH THE LOCAL COST
SHARE IN THE AMOUNT OF $75,488 (AB2015 -178)

County Flood Control Zone District Board of Supervisors.

is available for ordering whenever the County needs it; the number of contractors on this
bid; whether any money spent would still come to the Council for approval; the amount the
