The meeting was called to order at 9:30 a.m., in the Council Chambers, 1000 N.
Forest Street by Larry Harris, Acting Chair.

APPOINTMENT OF CHAIR OF THE WATER RESOURCES COMMITTEE
Dawson nominated Harris.
Nomination unanimously approved by roll call vote.
1. DISCUSSION OF LUMMI NATION'S REQUEST FOR NEGOTIATION WITH
STATE ON TRIBAL FEDERAL RESERVED WATER RIGHTS (AB94 -033)

The discussion was opened and the following persons spoke:
Russ Lehman, Governor's Office, Olympia
Tom McDonald, Asst. Attorney General, Olympia
Mike Rundlet, Department of Ecology (DOE), Regional Director of the
Northwest Division
Steve Hirshey, DOE Water Resources Division
Tom Laurie, DOE
Dick Grout, DOE, NW, Manager, Nooksack Watershed Initiative
Shirley Van Zanten, County Executive
The meeting was opened to the public, and the following persons spoke:
Linnea Smith, Georgia Manor Water Association.
Tom Anderson, Manager, Public Utilities
Sue Blake, Whatcom County Water Manager
Kris Heintz, President of Fee Land Water Association
Henry Bierlink, Whatcom County Agriculture Preservation Committee
Nelda Sigurdson, Member of the Washington Association Water Systems
(formerly Whatcom County Water Systems)
The meeting was recessed at 1 :02 p.m. for five minutes and reconvened at 1:07

Imhof moved that the chair of the Water Resources Committee be its
representive on the steering committee for Water Users Group.
Motion carried unanimously.
ADJOURN
The meeting was adjourned at 1:15 p.m.
