The meeting was called to order at 3:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 1000 N.
Forest St., 2nd floor, by Marge Laidlaw, Chairperson.

1. POTENTIAL PURCHASE OF REAL ESTATE BY THE COUNTY (AB92-
271A)
Topics discussed: Relocating offices at the DIS building; timing of obtaining
financing; need for Council direction as planning basis; deadline for vacating DIS; potential
locations for office space rather than Norbell; Courthouse space; possibility of Sears
Building; reason for withdrawal of employment securities building.
Persons speaking: Shirley Van Zanten, Executive; Laidlaw; Warner; Ken Henderson;
Barbara Brenner.
WARNER MOVED TO ASK THE ADMINISTRATION TO REMODEL THE
NORBELL BUILDING.
Motion carried 2 to 1 with Laidlaw against.
Topics discussed: Former discussion on Parks using Norbell and the Parks Bldg. being
utilized for other purposes; possibility of making an offer on the employment securities
building; background of interest in employment securities building; timing for presentation
to the full Council.

Because there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
