SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
Minutes
July 22, 1981
The meeting was called to order at 8:37 a.m. by Chairperson Van Zanten
with all present with the exception of McIntyre.
FINAL CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTIONS
Council reconsidered the Resolution in the matter of adopting a
salary schedule for the Non -Union Employees. The Chair stated there
were three corrections to be made to the Resolution. On Exhibit "A ",
line 10 the Judicial Administrator's salary was changed to $2,182.33
per month for a total of $26,188.00 per year. On Exhibit "B "; page 1,
line 15, after the words "Senior Deputy," insert "Prosecuting Attorney."
Exhibit "B ", page 2, line 10-21 to insert the following:
Range 19 Director of Public 1,955 2,033 Step 5
Employment Program
Roehl moved to adopt the Resolution with the corrections as stated by
the Chair. tMotion passed by a 5 -1 vote. (IIawley)
The four Union Employees Contracts were the second item on the
agenda. The Chair stated she had received word from the Prosecuting
Attorney's office that the manner in which the vote was taken on the
contracts at the July 16, 1981 Council meeting was not correct. The
Prosecuting Attorney's office had declared the contracts void. She
stated a roll call vote would be taken. Hansey moved to authorize
the Executive to' finalize the following contracts- or the.County:
Inside:'Bargaining Uriit, Public Works'Department, Juvenile Probation
Counselors, Detention Matron and Assistants Bargaining Unit, CETA
and Parks Departments. Hawley asked for the vote to be divided on the
above motion, to vote on the Inside Bargaining Unit Contract'separately
from the other three contracts. The Chair so recognized. Vote of
the first three contracts passed unanimously. The Inside Bargaining
Unit Contract received a 5 -0 vote. (Hawley abstained).
Meeting was adjourned 8:47 a.m.
