Minutes
The Whatcom County Council meeting was called to order
Wednesday, December 8, 1982 at 11:04 a.m., by Chair Roehl
with members Hansey, Johnson, and;.Van Zanten present. Also
present were Executive John Louws; Landy Bowen, Treasurer;
and Mike Branchau, bond counsel.
The purpose of the special meeting was to open the
bids for $1,300,000.00 Whatcom County, Washington, Limited
Tax General Obligation Bonds.
Treasurer Bowen received and opened two bids. The first
was from.Seattle,Northwest Securities Corporation, a net
interest cost of $1,760,370.00 with the average rate of
9.9175 %. The'second bid was from Seattle First National
Bank, a net interest cost of ,$1,777,880.00 with the average
rate of 10.016225 %.
Branchau checked the bids. He reported they both were
accurate. He recommended the bid of Seattle Northwest
Security Corporation.
Van Zanten so moved to accept the bid of Seattle Northwest
Securities Corporation.with a net interest cost of $1,760,370.00
and to authorize the Executive to sign the appropriate accep-
tance papers. Motion to accept':the' bid passed unanimously.
No further business came before the Council and the meeting
adjourned at 11:16 a.m.
