Minutes -- November 10, 1983
The Whatcom County Council meeting was called to order
on Thursday, November 10, 1983 at 7:39 p.m. by Chairperson
Cole with all members present except Johnson.
Hearing was declared open in the matter of the Executive's
proposed 1984 Whatcom County Budget and the Executive's
proposed 1984 Federal Shared Revenue Fund Budget.
The following testimony was received:
Robert Frost -Felt the Executive's salary
5602 Guide Meridian should be the highest within
Bellingham the County departments, along
with the Prosecuting Attorney
and Sheriff. Decrease the
Building and Codes and roads
budgets.
Wilma Johnson - Requested Federal Shared Revenue
Workshop Center funds for Developmental Disabili-
ties for new equipment for the
center in the amount of $44,854.
The Executive only recommended
$22,016.
Carol Wiedmeyer - Requested Federal Shared Revenue
PO Box 4094 funds in the amount of $8,400.
Bellingham for the Women Care Shelter.
Women Care Shelter
Jessie Keeney - Represented Advisory Board for
1326 Roland Whatcom Infant Simulation Program.
Bellingham Requesting $19,810. to fund a
parent /coordinator for Whatcom
Infant Simulation Program.

- Stated the Whatcom Infant
Simulation Program has been at
-the college since 1973. The
County contracts with the college
for these services. The college
also receives a grant from the
Federal government as well.
- Supports the request of the Workshop
Training Center.
No further testimony was received and the hearing was closed.
The next scheduled hearing on the budget is for November 23, 1983.
