COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
Minutes -- August 7, 1985
The Whatcom County Council Committee of the Whole was called
to order by Chairman Roehl, with all members present except Johnson,
Hawley, and Muenscher. Chairman Roehl asked Becker to chair the
meeting.
DISCUSSION ON RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING WHATCOM COUNTY BUDGET
POLICY FOR 1986
Becker explained the background on the resolution.
There was discussion on the resolution.
COLE MOVED TO AMEND THE RESOLUTION WITH THE FOLLOWING:
Page 2, line 14.5 Strike the word "Those" and after the phrase
"in 1986" add the phrase "and from other appropriate sources ".
Cole spoke to the motion.
Cole changed his amendment to read "Substantial monies received
from Federal Shared Revenue in 1986 and from other appropriate
sources..."
Hansey spoke in support of the motion.
The motion to amend carried.
There was further discussion on the budget and economic outlooks
for the future.
Members of the staff who were present at the meeting were
asked for input and comments on the proposed resolution.
After receiving comments from staff on the resolution, the
motion to recommend approval to the full Council of the resolution as
amended carried. The meeting was adjourned.
