PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING
July 3, 1986
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Johnson at 5 :35 p.m.,
with Hawley present. Also present were Dan Warner, Jeff Monsen,
Mrs. & Mrs. Frank Travis, Glynnis Christie, Ken Woolf, and Randy
Watts.
RESOLUTION CONFIRMING REASSESSMENT OF PROPERTY WITHIN THE MACAULAY
CREEK FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT
Ken Woolf, a Macaulay Creek Flood Control District resident,
explained his belief that the methods used to arrive at the assess-
ments for the various districts were utilized because they were
the fastest rather than the fairest available.
Jeff Monsen, Macaulay Flood Control District Secretary,
presented some arguments in favor of the assessment plan.
There was discussion on the issue.
HAWLEY MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE PROPOSED.REASSESSMENT.
The motion carried.
RECONSIDERATION OF THE ACTION OF THE WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL ON
JUNE 6 1985 REGARDING THE RATE INCREASE FROM 10 CANADIAN TO
10 U.S. FUNDS FOR CABLEVISION SERVICES FROM DELTA CABLE TELE-
VISION, LTD., IN POINT ROBERTS, WASHINGTON
Hawley discussed his proposed ordinance which would return
the rate charged to Pt. Roberts residents to $10 Canadian.
Considerable discussion of the issue followed. It was agreed
that the ordinance would be introduced at the Council meeting
that night, and scheduled for a public hearing and final considera-
tion at a later meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
