PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
June 5, 1986
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by Vice- Chairman
Burton. Johnson was present; Muenscher was absent. Also present
were Randy Watts, Attorney; Sandy Palm, Planning; Jerry Mixon,
Building and Codes; and Joe Abbott, Attorney for Tomyhoi Associates.
REVIEWED PROPOSED ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE INTERIM ZONING ORDINANCE,
CHAPTER 2.24 OF THE WHATCOM COUNTY CODE. UNTIL JULY 15. 1988
Sandy Palm explained the ordinance.
JOHNSON MOVED TO RECOMMEND ADOPTION OF THE ORDINANCE.
The motion carried.
REVIEW REQUEST FOR AN EXTENSION OF TIME FOR A MAJOR DEVELOPMENT
PERMIT (MDP 1 -76), TOMYHOI ASSOCIATES, INC.
Jerry Mixon explained the request.
There was discussion concerning the fact that several extensions
had already been granted for the permit, and most of the property
owners in the area surrounding the proposed development had changed
since the original public hearing was conducted.
JOHNSON MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE EXTENSION FOR AN
ADDITIONAL TWO YEARS,AFTER A PUBLIC HEARING WAS HELD.
The motion carried.
DISCUSSION REGARDING TITLE 20 URBAN RESIDENTIAL MEDIUM DENSITY ZONE
Sandy Palm explained that a hearing covering this issue had
been scheduled by the Planning Commission for June 17.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
