PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
January 8, 1987
The Committee was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman
Muenscher with all Committee members present. Also present were
Jim Hawley; Paul Rushing, Public Works; Dan Taylor and Carl
Batchelor, Planning; and Jean Gorton.
ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIAL WHATCOM COUNTY ZONING MAP TO
PROVIDE FOR A LIGHT IMPACT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT IN THE CHERRY
POINT /FERNDALE SUBARA
Dan Taylor explained the proposed rezone. Conditions
attached to the rezone and other aspects of the ordinance were
discussed by the Committee.
JOHNSON MOVED TO RECOMMEND ADOPTION OF THE ORDINANCE.
The motion carried.
RESOLUTION ADOPTING A PUBLIC BENEFIT RATING SYSTEM FOR THE
PURPOSE OF DETERMINING ELIGIBILITY FOR CURRENT USE TAXATION
STATUS FOR OPEN SPACE -OPEN SPACE; AND OPEN SPACE - TIMBER
APPLICATIONS
Carl Batchelor explained portions of the new system for
determining open space eligibility.
The Committee agreed to hold the resolution until the next
meeting in order to spend more time on its review.
The meeting was adjourned at 7 :00 p.m.
