SPECIAL MEETING
April 14, 1988
The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Hansey at 7:00
p.m., with Burton, Jackson, Johnson, Vanderpol and Warner
present.
CONTRACT AWARD FOR REVISION OF COMPREHENSIVE COUNTY SEWER PLAN
Discussion of this item was continued to the April 21, 1988
Council meeting.
CONSIDERATION OF SITING OF JUVENILE DETENTION FACILITY
There was discussion on the siting of the facility.
BURTON MOVED THAT EACH COUNCIL MEMBER NAME HIS /HER TWO TOP
CHOICES FOR SITING THE FACILITY.
The motion carried.
Three locations each received two votes, and it was agreed
that future discussion would be limited to the following three
sites: Cordata, Bakerview, and "The Pit" behind Building and
Codes.
WARNER MOVED TO PLAN FOR A 30 -BED FACILITY WITH EXPANSION
POTENTIAL TO 50 BEDS.
There was discussion on the motion.
The motion carried.
The Council agreed to ask the administration to examine the
merits, demerits, and costs associated with construction at
Bakerview and The Pit.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
