September 15, 1988
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman
Corky Johnson, with Council members Emily Jackson and Mary
Vanderpol present.

Johnson said he would like to table this ordinance until he
has talked with the Sheriff's and Prosecuting Attorney's offices.
The public hearing will be readvertised at an appropriate time.

Johnson said this ordinance also is snagged, and he wanted
to hold off discussing it until the Prosecuting Attorney is
present. To be resolved is who will issue licenses? Whatcom
County Code says the Auditor will do so; however, the Auditor
told Corky that her office has never done so, that Buildings and
Codes has issued them. This issue needs to be clarified before
action is taken on this matter. Public hearing will be
readvertised at an appropriate time.
Members of the audience Hershell and Phyllis Logsdon were
introduced by Johnson. They were present to observe the
government process.
The meeting Was adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
