PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE
6 p.m., August 18, 1988
Due to Clerk error, two meeting times were published; Mary
Vanderpol and Emily Jackson were present at 6 p.m., Chairman
Corky Johnson did not come until 6 :30.
NEW APPLICATION FOR A CLASS 11 (BED AND BREAKFAST) LIQUOR LICENSE
BY PAULINE MAE HANSON AND CARL LUDWIG HANSON FOR WEST SHORE FARM
BED & BREAKFAST, 2781 WEST SHORE DRIVE, LUMMI ISLAND
VANDERPOL MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THIS LICENSE TO THE
FULL COUNCIL.
Motion carried.
ORDINANCE IN THE MATTER OF ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES FOR THE
ABATEMENT AND REMOVAL AS A PUBLIC NUISANCE ABANDONED VEHICLES OR
AUTOMOBILE HULKS OR PARTS THEREOF FROM PRIVATE PROPERTY, NOT
INCLUDING HIGHWAYS, AND ADDING A NEW SECTION TO WHATCOM COUNTY
CODE (HEARING TO BE CONTINUED FROM 8/4)
Sheriff Larry Mount was present. His question about this
ordinance was who will pay for towing costs? Jackson said she
wanted to look at Snohomish County ordinances to see how they do
things. Johnson recommended the item be held in committee until
the Sheriff's Department can find out the information it needs.
ORDINANCE AMENDING WHATCOM COUNTY CODE, CHAPTER 5.60.020,
REGULATION OF PRIVATELY —OWNED BURGLARY OR ROBBERY ALARM SYSTEMS
There was a general consensus by committee members, but no
motion, that this item be recommended for approval.
The meeting was adjourned at 6 :40 p.m.
