PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
June 1, 1988
The meeting was called to order by Acting Chair Jackson at
2:00 p.m. Present were Joe Abbott, Pam Magee, and Sarah Bussard
of the Planning Department.

Joe Abbott, attorney for Tomyhoi Associates, stated that he
was withdrawing the request for the two -year extension.
The meeting was recessed at 2:04 p.m., and reconvened at
2:05 p.m. with Hansey present.
PLANNING.COMMI.SSION-RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE OP.
APPLICATIONS OF KENNETH SPADY, WILLIAM A BLUNT, FRANK AN.D_PAM
MAGEE. AND JAMES. AND BRENDA WEATHERBY
Sarah Bussard of the Planning Department explained that
because of new information about salmon boxes on the creek
running through the 43.33 -acre Magee property, that parcel had
received a better public benefit rating and was being recommended
for approval. Pam Magee pointed out that school golf teams were
also allowed to utilize the facility at no charge.
Bussard said that the application for open space /timberland
for another 5 -acre parcel owned by the Magees was still
recommended for denial.
Kenneth Spadv
Bussard reported that Kenneth Spady's application was
riecommended for approval, on the condition that a timber
management plan be submitted.

Bussard reported that the Blunt application was recommended
for denial, due to the discovery that approximately 26 percent of
the property had been cleared.

Bussard explained that because the Weatherbys had submitted
a better timber management plan, as well as letters from groups
of horseback riders who planned to use the property, their
application was now recommended for approval.
HANSEY MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATIONS OF
FRANK AND PAM MAGEE (OPEN SPACE /OPEN SPACE), KENNETH SPADY, AND
JAMES AND BRENDA WEATHERBY, AND DENIAL OF THE APPLICATIONS OF
FRANK AND PAM MAGEE (OPEN SPACE /TIMBERLAND) AND WILLIAM BLUNT.
The motion carried.
RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE PROJECT OF THE LUMMI INDIAN TRIBE TO
DEVELOP A.65 -ACRE COMMERCIAL MOORAGE BASIN ON THE RESERVATION
The Committee agreed to send the resolution forward to the
Council with no recommendation.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
