The meeting was called to order at 2 :00 p.m. by Committee
Chair Burton with Jackson and Hansey present.

HANSEY MOVED TO RECOMMEND ADOPTION OF THE ORDINANCE, SUBJECT
TO THE OUTCOME OF THE PUBLIC HEARING.
The motion carried.
This subject was briefly discussed, and Burton said he would
ask the Council's attorney to draft the necessary paperwork for
the sale.

Jackson reviewed her concerns regarding the need for the
involvement of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee in the county's
waste management decisions, particularly those regarding the
landfill siting process. The Committee reviewed Ordinance 85 -90,
establishing the SWAC, and RCW 70.95.165.
JACKSON MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO THE COUNCIL THAT THE SOLID
WASTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE SHALL ACT ACCORDING TO RCW 70.95.165 AND
WHATCOM COUNTY ORDINANCE 85 -90.
The motion carried.

The information submitted by the administration was reviewed
and discussed. Jackson said that she would do further research
on how other counties were handling the issue.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 p.m.
