PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
April 6, 1988
The meeting was called to order at 2 :00 p.m. by Committee
Chair Burton with Jackson present. Also present were Ed Henken
and Carl Parker, Engineering; Dan Taylor and Sarah Bussard,
Planning; Jerry Mixon, Buildings and Code; and James and Brenda
Weatherby.
PETITION FOR SHE VACATION OF A PORTION OF EAST BOUNDARY ROAD NO,
714, FILED BY EXPORTS, INC.
Ed Henken explained his report recommending that the
petition be approved.
JACKSON MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE PETITION.
The motion carried.
PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS ON OPEN SPACE APPLICATIONS
(Magee, Weatherby, Blunt_, Spady)
The Planning Commission's recommendations that the two
applications of Frank and Pam Magee be denied were discussed.
James and Brenda Weatherby's application, which had also
been recommended for denial, was discussed. The Weatherbys were
advised to meet with the Planning staff concerning information
omitted from the application form which might make a difference
to their application.
William Blunt's application, which had been recommended for
approval, was discussed next. It was the opinion of the
Committee that his timber management plan was inadequate.
After further discussion, all four applications were
referred back to the Planning Department for re- evaluation, to be
rescheduled for the Planning and Development Committee's first
meeting in May.
GUIDE MERIDIAN TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PLAN
Carl Parker and Jerry Mixon discussed with the Committee the
difficulties they were encountering in administering the Plan.
The meeting was adjourned at 3 :20 P.M.
