FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES
November 14, 1988
The budget workshop meeting was called to order at 2 p.m. by Committee
Chalrman Dan Warner with Don Hansey and Mary Vanderpol present. Also present
was Tom Sutberry, Budget Director.
The provisions were discussed and reworded. Sutberry has agreed to
produce a financial statement that shows all the changes and can be used at
the Council meeting on Thursday, November 17, 1988.
The regular meeting was called to order at 3 p.m. by Committee Chairman
Warner with Hansey and Vanderpol present. Council member Emily Jackson was
present for part of the meeting. Also present were Shirley Van Zanten, County
Executive; Sutberry; Harold Raymond, Personnel Director; Barbara Cory,
Treasurer; Shirley Forslof, Auditor; George Reid, Information Services; Marlen
Hansen, Public Works; Carl Parker and Nasser Mansour, Engineering; Nat
Dickenson, Purchasing; Bonnie Strode, Water District #10; Jon Komorowski and
Joan Bird, Public Defender's Office; Ray Weden, Weden Engineering; Marge
Laidlaw, Citizen.
Request for approval of bidders list to assure a convenient, continuous and
readily available source and supply of hot and cold asphaltic mixes at the
lowest cost for jobs as needed throughout 1989
Van Zanten . explained the value of such a list.

Jon Komorowski explained that the inordinate amount of homicides in
Whatcom County had depleted their funds.

committee.

WARNER MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

HANSEY MOVED WE RECOMMEND THIS BE PLACED ON THE AGENDA AND THAT IT BE
APPROVED.
