FINANCE COMMITTEE
May 2, 1988
The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Warner at
1:30 p.m. with all Committee members present. Also present were
Tom Sutberry, Budget Director; Mary Chisholm, Public Works;
Shirley Forslof, Auditor; Dan Taylor, Planning; and Barbara Cory,
Mickey Dixon, and Ken Colvin of the Treasurer's Office.
ORDINANCE AMENDING WHATCO.M COUNTY,CO.D.E.,2.55,Q.10
HANSEY MOVED TO RECOMMEND ADOPTION OF THE ORDINANCE.
It was noted by the Committee that the Treasurer was not but
should be on the list of bonded employees.
The motion carried.
ORDINANCE TO REVISE .THE 1988 PHYSICAL PLANT AND-CAPITAL
FACILITIES FUND
HANSEY MOVED TO RECOMMEND ADOPTION OF THE ORDINANCE.
The motion carried.
ORDINANCE TO,REV.ISE. HE.1.988 CURRENT EXPENSE FUND,.P.LANNING
DEPARTMENT APP.RQP,RI,AT.IQU.. THEREIN
Auditor Shirley Forslof pointed out that the resources
account number should be 00120 instead of 00250.
There was discussion about the ordinance with Planning
Director Dan Taylor.
VANDERPOL MOVED TO RECOMMEND ADOPTION OF THE ORDINANCE.
The motion carried.

INVESTMENT INCOM
Treasurer Barbara Cory distributed and explained several
pages of information on these subjects. The County's banking
policies and accounting practices were also discussed.

DISCUSSION OF BUSINESS REGISTRATION SYSTEM
The question of whether Whatcom County would benefit from
the institution of such a system was discussed. Warner said he
would write a letter to the Washington State Association of
Counties requesting information on this issue.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:22 p.m.
