FINANCE COMMITTEE
August 1, 1988
The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m. by Committee
Chair Warner with Hansey and Vanderpol present.
HANSEY MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE RESOLUTION.
The motion carried.

HANSEY MOVED TO RECOMMEND ADOPTION OF THE ORDINANCE.
The motion carried.
Council Member Jackson reported on the quality of products
available from Puget Sound Tent and Awning and from a local
vendor, and recommended that the Council place an order for a
dozen flags with Puget Sound Tent and Awning. The Committee
concurred with this recommendation.

Executive Van Zanten reported that six counties had voted to
join the pool; 6 other counties were likely to join; and two
counties had decided not to join. She reaffirmed her
recommendation that Whatcom County participate in the pool.
There was a lengthy discussion of the type of coverage
offered by the pool, the financial questions involved, and
various contingencies which might arise. The Committee did not
arrive at a recommendation for the full Council.
The meeting Was adjourned at 4 :10 p.m.
