REQUEST TO RENAME A COUNTY ROAD "ISLAND VIEW AVENUE" INSTEAD OF "HARMONY ROSE LANE" (SOME INFO ALREADY RECEIVED) Gary and Tammy Solari, the people who originally requested the Harmony Rose Lane designation last summer, were present. Gary Solari said the road in question leads to a lot he is building upon in Neptune Beach; he paid for the 900 -foot road (no other people were using it), then turned it over to the county. He said procedures for naming the road, such as they are, had been followed and he would like the name to remain Harmony Rose Lane. Ed Henken, Engineer, noted that notice of this hearing was not posted; Council Clerk said majority of lot- owners knew of the hearing, having either signed the petition or been told of it later. There is no legal requirement to post notice of the hearing near the road. Warner said Solari shouldn't be punished for following the rules, such as they are. Vanderpol said it seems if Solari paid for the road, he should have the opportunity to name it. WARNER MOVED THAT THE MATTER BE FORWARDED TO THE COUNCIL FOR CONSIDERATION AFTER THE PUBLIC HEARING. Motion carried. 2. ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 85 -90, ADDING ALTERNATES TO THE SOLID WASTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP This ordinance was kept in committee; SWAC members had told Johnson that the additional members will be unnecessary in the future. 3. RESOLUTION ORDERING THE FORMATION OF LOCAL AND ROAD IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER 11, AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING This item was withdrawn. The meeting was adjourned at 6 :55 p.m. WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL ATTEST: WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON Ramona Reeves, Council Clerk C.J. "Corky" Johnson, member
