REPORT,O$ FINANCE COMMITTEE FOR NOVEMBER .1979
This committee met on many occasions during November to discuss and
hold work sessions on the 1980 Budget in addition to the Committee of the Whole
work sessions with elected officials and agency and department heads and the
three public hearings by the full council.
These meetings were held on the following dates: November 8,.November 13;
November 14, November 19, November 20, November 21, November 23 all day and
evening, November 24 all day,November 26, 27 and 28 all day, November 29,
November 30, and December 3 all day. All committee meetings were open to all,
' Councilmembers and all Counc.ilmembers were urged to. attend these sessions to
help develop the 1980.budget..
During these meetings numer6us county administrators, department heads,.
and elected officials met with the committee to answer, further questions on
the budget. The committee went through all accounts, departments and agencies
and made the recommendations which were presented to the full council November 28
and 29 for final consideration. After adoption of the budget by the Council.
the committee went back through every page of the budget to ensure that the
final amended version that was presented to the Executive was exactly the same
as that passed by the Council.
The finance committee wishes to thank all those who participated in the
budget process-and .especially the fine co- operation of the Executive and his
staff.
