The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m. by Committee Chairman Bob Imhof in the
Council Chambers, 1000 N. Forest Street.

1. COUNTY -WIDE FLOOD CONTROL MANAGEMENT AND PREVEN-
TION -- REQUEST FOR MOTION INITIATING DISTRICT CREATION

2. RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE DISSOLUTION
OF THE SUMAS RIVER FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT (AB91-
071C)
3. RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE DISSOLUTION
OF THE POINT ROBERTS FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT (AB91-
071D)
Items discussed: Steps to be taken; Per parcel assessment; Funding mechanisms;
Organizational steps.
Comments were made by Imhof, Van Zanten and Vanderpol.
VANDERPOL MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE
THREE ITEMS.
The motion carried unanimously.
4. RESOLUTION ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM OF BANK EROSION ON
LUMMI SHORE DRIVE AND THE NEED TO CREATE ONE -LANE
SECTIONS TO ENSURE TRAFFIC SAFETY (AB91 -340)
Tyler explained this issue. He suggested alternate routing, using one -way traffic, the
dangers involved, the 660 feet part of the road that is particularly bad, etc.
Comments were made by Imhof and Vanderpol.
VANDERPOL MOVED TO RECOMEND APPROVAL OF THIS ITEM.
