ORDINANCE ORDERING THE CLOSURE OF ROBERTS ROAD BETWEEN MARTIN ROAD AND CENTRAL ROAD (AB91 -121) Jerry McDowell, Everson Fire Chief: This closure will cause a delay in response time. When the bridge was washed out last year this was the Fire Department's route to the Cedarville area. He is very concerned as there are many grass and structure fires in that area. He said that people will drive around the barricade if they want to get down the road. Vanderpol asked if they help Nugent Corners area. He said they do but would normally use the Mission Road for that area but would use the Roberts Road for the Martin Road area. Tyler said they are trying to prevent dumping and allow time to clean it up. He said if paint is dumped in this area, it will run off into Anderson Creek. Tyler said the owners of the land in that area would be given a key to the structure so they could access the property. Vander Yacht asked if the breakaway structure would be likely to be vandalized; Tyler said it may well be but it would discourage most people. He said the breakaways have been used in subdivisions. A fire truck could easily just go over the barricade without harming the vehicle. 2. RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 82 -59 ...TO PROVIDE A HOOKUP TO THE NOR -BELL SEWER LINE FOR PYNOR'S MARKET AT THE INTERSECTION OF NORTHWEST AND SMITH ROADS (AB91 -144) Tyler said the secondary treatment plant for Femdale the County participated for a certain number of outlets. This property is in the rural zone and the owners have been told by the Health Department that they must hook up to the sewer or they will be closed. The resolution must be passed before the County can enter into a contract with the owners of Pynor's market. VANDERPOL MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL TO COUNCIL. The motion carried unanimously. 3. KICKERVILLE SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION REQUEST (AB91 -149) Imhof explained that a request was received from Cathy Brooker to have the speed limit reduced from 50 mph on Kickerville Road from Loomis Trail to Rainbow Road; the increasing traffic to and from ARCO makes this a safety hazard. VANDERPOL MOVED TO REFER THIS ITEM TO THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT FOR STUDY AND RECOMMENDATION. The motion carried unanimously.
