May 28, 1991
The meeting was called to order at 3:15 in the Council Chambers, 2nd floor, 1000 N. Forest,
by Chairperson Marge Laidlaw.

1. DECISION REGARDING REQUEST TO INITIATE A REZONE IN HE
POINT ROBERTS SUBAREA ( KELLER REZONE, UR -3 TO RESORT
COMMERCIAL) (AB91 -172) 73 -75
Dan Taylor from Planning presented the rationale for the request. Phil Serka and
Mrs. Keller were present to answer questions from the committee.
A representative from the Heron Committee objected to the rezone on the basis of
what the perception would be in Pt. Roberts and that repercussions could affect the heron
rookery.
Further discussion and questions among committee members and staff.
JACKSON MOVED TO RECOMMEND THAT MRS. KELLER INITIATE THE
REZONE AT HER OWN EXPENSE AND IN THE NORMAL CYCLE.
The motion failed with Hansey and Laidlaw voting against it.
HANSEY MOVED TO RECOMMEND THAT THE COUNCIL INITIATE A
REZONE OF THE KELLER PROPERTY BASED ON THE BELIEF THAT THERE
WAS AN ERROR MADE IN THE 1990 ZONING.
The motion carried with Jackson voting against it.
2. ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN INTERAGENCY
AGREEMENT WITH WESTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY FOR
DEVELOPING A REGIONAL GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM
(AB91 -186) 47 -62

JACKSON MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL TO COUNCIL.
The motion carried unanimously.
Because there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
