September 8, 1992
The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 1000 No. Forest
St., 2nd floor, by Bob Imhof, Chairman.

1. ORDINANCE REPLACING WHATCOM COUNTY CODE 9.32
REGARDING THE UNLAWFUL DISCHARGE OF FIREARMS (AB92-
032)
Topics discussed: Irresponsible discharge of firearms; the 300 foot setback;
"grandfathering" of approved ranges; exemptions; definition for "simulated" ranges; building
new facilities; section 9.32.090; historically hunted areas; self /home /third party defense
discharge; notification of property owners in newly zoned no- shooting areas; make available
histories of complaints in new proposed zones; time frame for revisions.

BRENNER MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPOINTMENT OF ERICA LOREEN
IN DISTRICT NO. 8, DALE CLINE IN DISTRICT NO. 9, AND JULIE HUGHES IN
DISTRICT NO. 6.
The motion carried unanimously.
5. RESOLUTION ORDERING THE SEGREGATION OF PARCELS
WITHIN LOCAL AND ROAD IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO.9 (AB92-
291A)
The consensus of the Committee was to bring this issue forward to Council with no
recommendation.
