WATER RESOURCES COMMITTEE

The meeting was called to order at 11 a.m. in the Council Chambers, 1000 N.
Forest St., 2nd floor, by Larry Harris, Chair.

1. DISCUSSION OF COORDINATED WATER SUPPLY PLAN PROCESS
WITH THE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT #1 (AB93 -052)
Topics discussed: Definition of the Coordinated Water Supply Plan; role of the
Council; list of recommendations (attached) from the District; coordination of water
plans, growth plans, and zoning, etc.; final appeal process through the Hearing Examiner;
some elements on the recommendations required by State; potential satellite system
managers; differences between receivers and managers; schedule of mid -May for Council
action; coordination with County -Wide Planning Policies; SEPA review of the document;
need for public hearing; reminder that assurances are needed that adequate water will
be available; growth vs. finite water supply.
