WATER RESOURCES COMMITTEE
April 13, 1993
The meeting was called to order at noon in the Council Chambers, 1000 N. Forest
St., 2nd floor, by Larry Harris, Chair.

IMPLICATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY'S TRUST
WATER RIGHTS PROGRAM FOR WHATCOM COUNTY (WR)(AB93-
106)
Subjects discussed: Purpose for meeting; recommendation of Sue Harris.

HENDERSON MOVED TO RECOMMEND ADOPTION.
The motion carried unanimously.
2. OTHER BUSINESS
Henderson asked Ann Ackerson, Whatcom Co. Health Department, to give details
on the Paradise Estates and Peaceful Valley well situation. She says she is not aware of any
collaboration between the Paradise Lakes and Paradise Estates water systems. The Health
Dept. is still not issuing any more connections in the area. She discussed the problems that
the two are working on solving. Currently the Health Dept. of trying to solve the problems
of those who are caught in the middle between the water problem and building permits.
Brenner reported that the DOE is making good on its promises for processing water
rights. Ackerson and Brenner discussed this.
Pat Whitney asked if the Trust Water Rights Program applied county -wide. Harris
responded that it did.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:16.
