Also Present: Ken Henderson Alvin Starkenburg Absent: None Committee Discussions and Recommendations to Council 1. PETITION FOR THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF VALLETTE STREET, FILED BY STEPHEN P. KEMPSTON AND JULIE A. NICHOLSON (AB94 -200) (FROM 9/27) This item was pulled, as the parties had not been given notice. 2. RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING OCTOBER 23, 1994 AS UNITED STATES DAY (AB94 -495) (FROM 9/27) This item was pulled, as it is a full Council item only. 3. ORDINANCE REGARDING PARKING CONTROL ON NORTHWEST DRIVE AND WEST SMITH ROAD (AB94 -405) (FROM 8/9/94 COUNCIL MEETING) Jeff Monsen, Transportation Services, spoke to this issue. He provided a handout. Henderson moved for recommendation for approval. Motion carried unanimously. 4. DISCUSSION OF POTENTIAL PARTIAL CLOSURE OF NORTH /SOUTH LANES OF THE GUIDE MERIDIAN (BETWEEN HORTON ROAD AND LAUREL ROAD) (AB94 -513) Bill Davis, Washington State Department of Transportation (Bellingham office) and Chris Pickard from the DOT Seattle office, spoke to this issue. DISCUSSION OF WASHINGTON STATE ASSOCIATION OF 32 COUNTIES' SURVEY REGARDING REGULATORY REFORM 33 (AB94 -515) 88 -95 34 35 Henderson asked for ways of prioritizing, etc. Starkenburg suggested each 36 Council member prioritize areas by making a list.
