SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
WORK SESSION
May 25, 1995
The meeting was opened at 11:15 a.m. by Council Chair Robert Imhof in the
Council Committee Room, 311 Grand Avenue.

1. DISCUSSION OF THE MARINE DRIVE /AIRPORT ANALYSIS AREA FOR
THE URBAN FRINGE (AB95 -227)
Imhof gave direction on the order of the Work Session.
STAFF UPDATES
Carl Batchelor, Planning & Development, called attention to maps he brought
with him. The first map referred to the Shoreline Industrial Area regarding the area of
contention between the City and the County (Morse Hardware Short Plat).
Those also speaking included:
Dan Taylor, Planning & Development
Pat Anderson, City Planning
Jack Swanson, P.S.
Bill Geyer, Land Use Specialist
Discussion followed.
Map 2 was then discussed, the Airport Marine Drive Mixed Use area. Batchelor
spoke on recommended zoning on specific lots in specific areas. He explained UR -Mix
zoning designation.
Also speaking was Pat Anderson and Dan Taylor.
The next map was discussed, which was the Bennett Drive residential area. Much
of this area is recommended for UR -Mix zoning.

3 Batchelor discussed the next map, Airport/Gateway operations, which includes the
4 Olivine and Curtis Road areas.

8 The Expansion area was the final map, which addressed annexation issues
9 (Ferndale).

11 Also speaking was Dan Taylor and Bill Geyer.

13 Dan Taylor requested direction from the Council.

17 The Planning Department will notify the Council when the next meeting will take
18 place. This subject will be coming to the Planning & Development Committee for
19 discussion.
