HomeMy WebLinkAboutPublic Works May 9 1995WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL Public Works & Capital Projects Committee May 9, 1995 The meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m. by Committee Chair Barbara Brenner in the Committee Room of the Council Chambers, 311 Grand Avenue. Also Present: Ken Henderson Alvin Starkenburg Absent: None COMMITTEE DISCUSSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS TO COUNCIL . 1. STATUS REPORT FROM THE SOLID WASTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (AB95 -221) Jeff Monsen, Public Works, spoke to this issue. The Compost regulation recommendations will be coming out in mid -May going first to the Health Advisory Board and then to the Council as the Board of Health. He requested direction as to the next SWAC project. Staff projects include a proposed amendment of the Flow Control Ordinance and an amendment to the service level ordinance for curbside customers. Bob Jurica, Solid Waste, commented. 2. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION FOR THE EXECUTIVE TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF BELLINGHAM TO ESTABLISH MAINTENANCE AND CONTROL OF A PORTION OF MCLEOD ROAD WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF WHATCOM COUNTY (AB95 -220) Mary Scrimsher, Public Works (handout) Speakers were: Jeff Monsen, Public Works Check Lackey, who explained the Interlocal Agreement Ed Henken, Engineering Starkenburg moved to recommend for approval.
