The meeting was called to order at 1:33 p.m. by Committee Chair Barbara
Brenner in the Council Committee Room, 311 Grand Avenue.

COMMITTEE DISCUSSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS TO COUNCIL
1. RESOLUTION ADOPTING ADA TRANSITION PLAN AND SELF
EVALUATION PLAN FOR THE YEARS 1995 THROUGH 1999 (AB95-
323) (FROM 8/1)
Nat Dickinson, ADA Coordinator, provided a handout.
Those speaking included:
Kurt Dessauer, Community Action for the Disabled
Dick Hayes, Community Action for the Disabled
Shirley Van Zanten, County Executive
Dickinson noted there are scrivener's errors and requested he be allowed to make
periodic updates to the resolution.
Starkenburg moved to recommend for approval of the resolution as stated, as well
as Exhibit A (the ADA Plan), adding the giving of flexibility to the schedule of the Plan
as far as dollar amounts spent per year in the next five years and including the language
in the handout of August 15, 1995 from Nat Dickson (items 1 and 2 to be received as
information).
Motion carried unanimously.
2. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION FOR THE EXECUTIVE TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NORTHWEST
WASHINGTON FAIR CLARIFYING ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE
COUNTY (AB95 -333)
Shirley Van Zanten, County Executive, provided a handout and commented.
