The meeting was called to order at 11 :10 a.m. by Committee Chair Larry Harris
in the Council Committee Room, 311 Grand Avenue.

COMMITTEE DISCUSSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS TO COUNCIL
1. DISCUSSION REGARDING RESOLUTION 95 -072, PLACING THE
CONSERVATION FUTURES TAX ON THE BALLOT FOR AN
ADVISORY VOTE IN THE NOVEMBER 1996 GENERAL ELECTION
(AB95 -428) (FROM 11114)
A discussion took place among Bob Woods, Dan Gibson and committee members
regarding the language of the advisory ballot.
Harris moved to accept the following language: "Should Whatcom County
continue to levy a tax of no more than $0.0625 per one thousand dollars of assessed
valuation to fund a reserve from which to finance purchases of property or property
rights for conservation purposes ?"
Motion carried unanimously.
