PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
April 12, 1994
The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Ward Nelson at 3:20 p.m. in
the Hearing Examiner's Chambers, 1000 North Forest Street.

1. PRESENTATION BY DAN TAYLOR ON GROWTH BOUNDARIES
(AB94 -090)
No action was taken at the conclusion of the presentation.
2. PRESENTATION BY GEORGE IRWIN ON PROPOSED
DEVELOPMENTS IN THE PARADISE LAKES AREA THAT
REQUIRE ZONING CHANGES (AB94 -187)
The following persons addressed the Committee:

Joe Shearer
Nate Brown
No action was taken at the conclusion of the presentation.
3. OTHER BUSINESS
Nelson presented a resolution regarding the Growth Management Act, which will
be discussed in two weeks (AB94 -230).
Dawson has a proposed amendment to the Whatcom County Code dealing with
time extension for plat approval (AB94 -234).
Brenner commented on Vicki Matheson's request for Council direction on
Planning presentations (AB94 -235).
Dawson moved to recommend to give the Council the option to provide direction
as the Council sees fit by a majority vote (not individually) on different aspects of the
Growth Management Act as they are brought forward.
Mike Ross, Vicki Matheson and Bob Imerson spoke to this issue.

Motion carried 2 -1 with Harris opposed.
