BUDGET HEARINGS
October 27, 1994
The meeting was called to order at 10 a.m by Council Committee Chair Alvin
Starkenburg in the Council Chambers, 311 Grand Avenue.
Also Present: Absent:
Barbara Brenner None
Ward Nelson
Other Council Members present and participating in discussion were Bob Imhof
and Larry Harris. Council Member Ken Henderson arrived during the Health
Department discussion and participated from that point. Council Budget and Program
Analyst Bob Woods participated in discussion as well.
COMBINED TREATMENT
Marcia Gunning and John Hooper of the Combined Treatment Services
Department made a short presentation. A question and answer period followed.
DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES
Carl Allen of the Developmental Disabilities Department made a short
presentation. A question and answer period followed.
Starkenburg called for a short recess at 10:50 a.m. and resumed the meeting at
10:54 a.m.
HEALTH DEPARTMENT
Health Officer Frank James presented Finance Committee Members with some
paperwork (on file). He made a short presentation, and a question and answer period
followed. Henderson arrived for this portion of the meeting. Imhof left the meeting
about 11 :35 a.m. (during discussion about State Child Protective Services) and did not
return. Brenner left the meeting at 11:45 a.m. (during discussion of a tuberculosis
program) and did not return. Harris left the meeting at 11:47 a.m. (during that same
discussion) and did not return. Paul Chudek of the Health Department addressed some
questions posed by the Committee.

COUNTY COUNCIL OFFICE
Ramona Reeves, Clerk of the Council, made a short presentation to the
Committee and distributed written materials corresponding with that presentation (on
file). A question and answer period followed.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:30 p.m.
