The meeting was called to order at 11:03 a.m. by Committee Chair Alvin
Starkenburg in the Council Chambers, 311 Grand Avenue.

EXECUTIVE'S BUDGET PROPOSAL FOR 1995: OVERVIEW
The Executive's proposed budget is on file, along with four notebooks of
background material (AB94 -538). The budget ordinance is included.
Shirley Van Zanten gave credit to Linda Irvin of the Executive's Office and three
interns from WWU for preparation of the 1995 budget proposal. She briefly went
through the budget document's format. She explained the various cuts she is
recommending. She also talked about new or added services, of which there are not
many. "It is a very lean, status quo budget," she noted. There was discussion.
Administrative Services Director Tom Sutberry gave an overview of general fund
revenues.
OTHER BUSINESS
Human Rights Task Force (AB94 -532): The Clerk asked if Council Members
would attend a rally on this subject later in the evening.
The meeting was adjourned around noon.
