HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil November 15 1994WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL Regular Council Meeting November 15, 1994 The meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. by Chair Robert Imhof in the Council Chambers, 311 Grand Avenue. Also Present: Absent: Marlene Dawson None Barbara Brenner Larry Harris Alvin Starkenburg Ken Henderson Ward Nelson ANNOUNCEMENTS Imhof called the Council's attention to the schedule for Comprehensive Plan Work sessions. Starkenburg moved to change the 2 p.m. meeting to 4 p.m. (Clerk's Note. No vote was taken on this motion; however, it passed by consensus.) Harris moved to allow administrators an opportunity to speak first. Motion failed 6 -1 with Harris in favor. Imhof moved to allow five minutes for each speaker. Motion carried unanimously. Bob Woods, Council Budget /Program Analyst, reported on changes to the 1995 budget from the Finance Committee work session held on Saturday, November 12, 1994 (see attached). PUBLIC HEARINGS 1. RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 1995 SIX -YEAR PHYSICAL PLANT 24 AND CAPITAL FACILITIES PROGRAM RELATING TO BUILDINGS 25 AND FACILITIES FOR WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON 26 (AB94 -543) (HEARING CONTINUED FROM NOVEMBER 8; FINAL 27 ACTION BY COUNCIL WILL TAKE PLACE NOVEMBER 22) 28 29 The hearing was opened, and the speakers included: 30 31 Rob Felix, General Manager, Sudden Valley 32 Jeff Monsen, Transportation Services 33 34 The hearing was closed. 35 36 REPORTS AND OTHER ITEMS FROM COUNCIL MEMBERS 37 38 Brenner reminded Council members that Tuesday, November 22, at 1:30 p.m. 39 there will be a special meeting of the Public Services Committee on Extended Local 40 Phone Service.
