The meeting was called to order at 3 p.m. by Acting Committee Chair Marlene Dawson in
the Council Committee Room, 311 Grand Avenue.

1. CONSIDERATION OF HEARING EXAMINER'S RECOMMENDED
APPROVAL OF A PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT FILED BY EIFORD
AND EIFORD DEVELOPMENT COMPANY FOR "BANNER BUSINESS
PARK" (PUD95 -0002) (GBS95 -0002) (AB96 -096)
Bill Florea, Planning & Development Services; spoke to turn the program over to Matt
Aamot.
Matt Aamot, Planning & Development Services, spoke to questions posed by committee
members.
FOR COMMITTEE DISCUSSION (HEARING SCHEDULED FOR THIS EVENING)
1. ORDINANCE AMENDING LAND CLEARING REGULATIONS IN TITLE 20,
THE OFFICIAL WHATCOM COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE (AB96 -074)
Terry Galvin, Planning & Development Services, reviewed the handout distributed at this
meeting. He discussed comments made by the public and how these comments are applicable to
the ordinance. Topics discussed included: vegetation maintenance exemptions; surface mining;
slope requirements; review process; and thresholds.
