Special Council Meeting
September 18, 1997
The meeting was called to order at 10 a.m. by Council Chair Ward Nelson in the
Council Committee Room, 311 Grand Avenue.

RESOLUTION SUBMITTING THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF THE
GLACIER GREEN AREA INTO THE GLACIER WATER DISTRICT TO THE
VOTERS AT THE NOVEMBER GENERAL ELECTION (AB97 -319A)
As there was no staff report, Nelson opened the public hearing, and the following people
spoke:
Pete Visser, 1610 Grover Street, Lynden, attorney for Glacier Water District, addressed
Council briefly regarding the background of this issue.
Jan Eskola, Glacier Water District Office Manager, requested Council approve the
resolution.
Hearing no one else, Nelson closed the public hearing.
A short question and answer period followed. Topics discussed included: Glacier Green
only voting and how the area is currently served.
Nelson moved approval of the resolution.
Motion carried unanimously.
2. COUNCIL APPOINTMENT OF FRANK STRAKA, BETTY ZYLSTRA, AND JAMES
WILLIAMS TO ACT AS JUDGES AT THE GLACIER WATER DISTRICT
ANNEXATION ELECTION (AB97 -319A)
Brown moved approval of the appointments.
Motion carried unanimously.
