WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL
Committee Of The Whole
June 1, 2004
Council Chair Dan McShane called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the
Council Committee Room, 311 Grand Avenue, Bellingham, Washington.
Present: Absent:

ADDENDUM:
2. DISCUSSION WITH CHIEF CIVIL DEPUTY PROSECUTOR RANDALL
WATTS REGARDING PENDING LITIGATION (AB2004 -018)
Randall Watts, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecutor, stated the Council would meet
as the Board of Health in executive session to discuss this item.
Crawford moved to go into executive session to discuss this item.
Motion carried unanimously.
(Clerk's Note: The Committee met in executive session for approximately 15
minutes.)
McShane stated the Board of Health is out of executive session. They've
been asked to consider filing an amicus brief regarding the Pierce County Board of
Health request for reconsideration of the State Supreme Court regarding a decision
reversing a summary judgment that allowed the Board of Health to adopt a
regulation requiring fluoridation. He moved to approve filing the amicus brief.
Motion failed 2 -4 with Caskey- Schreiber and McShane in favor.
1. DISCUSSION WITH WHATCOM COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
JEFF MONSEN REGARDING THREE POSSIBLE LAND ACQUISITIONS
(AB2004 -018)
McShane moved to go into executive session to discuss this item for
approximately 40 minutes.
Motion carried unanimously.
