6 Council Chair Carl Weimer called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. in the Council
7 Chambers, 311 Grand Avenue, Bellingham, Washington.

17 1. RESOLUTION INITIATING COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND ZONING
18 AMENDMENTS FOR 2007 (AB2007 -090)

20 Nelson moved to approve the resolution.

22 Motion carried unanimously.

24 2. REQUEST FILED BY FIRE DISTRICT #21 TO WAIVE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH
25 THE DISTRICTS COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT PROPOSAL (AB2007-
26 090)

28 Fleetwood moved to approve the request. The district is a public entity.

30 Crawford asked the amount being waived.

32 Jon Sitkin, Fire District #21 attorney, stated he thinks the fee is about $1,500 to
33 $1,800, but would have to check. The district is spending over $100,000 on capital facilities
34 this year.

36 McShane stated the Council should waive the fee because it has to do with an issue it
37 wants to see completed. He's pleased this has come forward.
