CALL TO ORDER
Council Vice -Chair Bill Knutzen called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. in the Council
Conference Room, 311 Grand Avenue, Bellingham, Washington.
ROLL CALL
Present: Barbara Brenner, Sam Crawford, Bill Knutzen, Ken Mann and Pete Kremen
Absent: Kathy Kershner and Carl Weimer
1. STAFF UPDATE ON INSTREAM FLOW NEGOTIATIONS AND RELATED LEGAL
MATTERS (AB2012 -018)
2. DISCUSSION REGARDING A POSSIBLE PURCHASE OF PROPERTY FOR PARK
PURPOSES (AB2012 -018)
Knutzen stated that discussion of agenda item one may take place in executive session
pursuant to RCW42.30.110 (1)(i) and discussion of agenda item two may take place in executive
session pursuant to RCW42.30.140 (4)(a). Executive session will conclude no later than 4:30
p.m. If the meeting extends beyond the stated conclusion time, he will step out of the meeting
to make a public announcement.
Kremen moved to go into executive session until no later than 4:30 p.m. to discuss the
agenda items pursuant to RCW citations as announced by the Council Chair.
The motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Brenner, Crawford, Knutzen, Mann, and Kremen (5)
Nays: None (0)
Absent: Kershner and Weimer (2)
OTHER BUSINESS
ADJOURN
The meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
The Council approved these minutes on July 24, 2012.
