TO SELL TAX -TITLE PROPERTY
BY NEGOTIATION
REQUEST NO. 06 -01
I WHEREAS, RCW 36.34.005 allows the County to establish comprehensive procedures for
2 management of county property consistent with the public interest, and;
3 WHEREAS, counties establishing such procedures shall be exempt from the provisions of
4 chapter 36.34 RCW, and;
5 WHEREAS, Whatcom County has established comprehensive procedures for county property
6 under Whatcom County Code 1. 10, and;
7 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee recommends the
8 property be sold by negotiation as per R.C.W. 36.35.150 for no less than the principal taxes, interest,
9 penalty, title search and foreclosure costs; and
10 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council recommends its sale by negotiation; and,
I t WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council does deem it in the best interest of the County and
12 the people thereof that said property be sold for no less than the principal taxes, interest, penalty, title
13 search and foreclosure costs; and,

WHEREAS, Resolution
95 -005 designated
the Whatcom County Treasurer
as negotiator in

such sales; and,
16 WHEREAS, Whatcom County held a public hearing on this date to determine if it is in the
17 best interests of Whatcom County to sell the below described property by negotiation. After said
18 hearing the Council does determine that it is in the best interests of Whatcom County to declare said
19 property be sold by negotiation for the purpose to dedicate the parcels for public road purposes and
20 clarify maintenance responsibility.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in
the best interest of the
County to sell for
