COUNCILMEMBER COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT NEGOTIATION
ATTENDANCE
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council hereby re- affirms its support of our
County Administration's representatives in negotiations with bargaining units of
Whatcom County Employees; and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council communicates with the Administration's
representatives in executive session, as allowed by Washington State Law. This is done
to ensure consistency and uniformity in the County's positions regarding collective
employee issues; and
WHEREAS, negotiation sessions by individual councilmembers may compromise
the integrity, effectiveness , and consistency of the existing established negotiation
process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that as a
matter of practice, Whatcom County Councilmembers will continue to refrain from
participating in Collective Bargaining negotiation sessions.
