ESTABLISHING COUNTY ROAD PROJECT NO. 998026
AND THE AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE
ALDERWOOD /AIRPORT/W.BAKERVIEW ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, this project is included in the officially adopted Annual Road Program as Item
No. 9.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council:
That CRP 998026 is formally established for the Alderwood/Airport/W.Bakerview Road
Improvements.
The Contract for this project is awarded to Wilder Construction Company in the amount of
their bid of $ 1,230,825.19.
An appropriation from the officially adopted Road Fund Budget and based on the County
Engineer's estimate is hereby made in the amounts and for the purposes shown:

SUBJECT: Alderwood/AirporUW.Bakerview Road Improvements,
CRP 998026
Background:
Bid proposals for the subject project were opened at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2001. This
project is listed as Item No. 9 on the 2001 Annual Construction Budget that was adopted by Council
on November 14, 2000.
Information:
Attached for your review is a copy of the low bid proposal, tabulation of all bids, Project Cost
Breakdown, Resolution for Contract Award, Whatcom County Contract Information Sheet, and a
Whatcom County Council Agenda Bill.
Requested Action:
Based on a review of the five bids received, it is recommended that the contract for the subject
project be awarded to the low bidder, Wilder Construction Company, in the amount of
$1,230,825.19 including taxes. Sufficient funds exist to complete the project. Local and State
(TIB) funds are involved.
Please signify on the Approval For Contract Award page your approval to award the contract to
Wilder Construction Company.
