ESTABLISHING COUNTY ROAD PROJECT NO. 998002
AND THE AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE
RECONSTRUCTION OF PARK ROAD,
SOUTH BAY DRIVE TO SR -9
WHEREAS, this project is included in the officially adopted Annual Road Program as Item
No. 2.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council:
That CRP 998002 is formally established for the Reconstruction of Park Road, South Bay
Drive to SR -9.
The Contract for this project is awarded to Colacuroio Brothers Construction Company, Inc.
in the amount of their bid of $ 3,086,786.00.
An appropriation from the officially adopted Road Fund Budget and based on the County
Engineer's estimate is hereby made in the amounts and for the purposes shown:
PURPOSE AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION
Preliminary Engineering $ 323,000.00
Right -of -Way $ 1425500.00
Subtotal $ 465,500.00
Construction Contract $ 3,086,800.00
Construction Engineering $ 307,700.00
Total $3,8609000.00
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the construction is to be accomplished by Contract in
accordance with RCW 36.77.020 et. seq.

Backmnund:
Bid proposals for the subject project were opened at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2001. This project
is listed as Item No. 2 on the 2001 Annual Construction Budget that was adopted by Council on
November 14, 2000.
Information:
Attached for your review is a copy of the low bid proposal, tabulation of all bids, Project Cost
Breakdown, Resolution for Contract Award, Whatcom County Contract Information Sheet, and a
Whatcom County Council Agenda Bill.
Requested Action:
Based on a review of the seven bids received, it is recommended that the contract for the subject
project be awarded to the low bidder, Colacmcio Brothers Construction Company, Inc., in the
amount of $3,086,786.00 including taxes. Sufficient funds exist to complete the project. Local
and State (Rural Arterial Program) funds are involved.
Please signify on the Approval For Contract Award page your approval to award the contract to
Colacurcio Brothers Construction Company, Inc.
