HEARING AND NOTICE OF HEARING ON
SURPLUS OF COUNTY PROPERTY

1 WHEREAS, RCW 36.34.005 allows the County to establish comprehensive procedures for
2 management of county property consistent with the public interest, and;
3 WHEREAS, counties establishing such procedures shall be exempt from the provisions of
4 chapter 36.34 RCW, and;
5 WHEREAS, Whatcom County has established comprehensive procedures for county property
6 under Whatcom County Code 1.10, and;
7 WHEREAS, the County desires to exchange property with Charles and Sharon Middleton for
8 the purpose of improvement to Park Road, and;
9 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee recommends said
10 property be declared surplus for the purpose of exchange for privately owned lands that better meet
I t county land needs as per Whatcom County Code 1. 10.270 (E);
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best interest of the County to
13 surplus said property in exchange for privately owned lands that better meet county land needs as per
14 Whatcom County code 1.10.270 (E);

21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council, that a public hearing on the
22 matter of the exchange of said property, under said terms, be held on the 1 day of May
23 2001; at 7 p.m., at the Cn nri 1 rn,nmt,erg , Whatcom County, Washington;
24 and,
25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Whatcom County Council shall give
26 notice of such hearing in the manner prescribed by law under RCW 36.34.030.
