Distribution Request Indicate specific those who should receive a copy afrer Council action. ant peck rmmen to the right ADS Facilities Management ADS Finance Brad Bermen, Quenoby Peterson ADSHuman Resources ADSInfo Services Assessor Auditor Cooperative Extension District Court Executive Levier Denier, Francine Kincaid Health Hearing Examiner Jail COUNCIL ACTION TAKEN: 2001-350 1012312001: Introduced 11/13/2001: Adopted 7 -0, Ord. #2001 -057 Related County Contract #: Juvenile Parks Planning Prosecutor Public Wnntr Sherff Superior Court Treasurer Omer Related File Numbers: Ordinance or Reoluti Number (this item): - �1 INTRODUCED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: County Executive DATE: October 23, 2001 ORDINANCE NO. 2001 -057 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE LEVY OF TAXES FOR COUNTY ROAD PURPOSES IN WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON, FOR THE YEAR OF 2002 PURSUANT TO HOME RULE CHARTER SECTION 6.10 WHEREAS, pursuant to Home Rule Charter Section 6.10 the County Executive is required to submit for Council consideration proposed tax and revenue ordinances necessary to raise sufficient revenues to balance the Budget; and, WHEREAS, the County taxes having been on estimates filed in accordance with Home Rule Charter 6.20; and, WHEREAS, RCW 84.55.120 requires the adoption of an ordinance stating the dollar amount of the tax increase and the percentage change in the levy from the previous year in order to maintain the flexibility for inflationary adjustments in future years; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ESTABLISHED by the Whatcom County Council of Whatcom County, Washington, that an increase in the regular Road District property tax levy, in addition to and amount resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state - assessed property, is hereby authorized for the 2002 levy in the amount of $ -0 -, which is a percentage increase of 0% from the previous year.
