4 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE IN
THE MATTER OF AMENDING CHAPTER 2.24 -
5 WHATCOM COUNTY CODE, THE WHATCOM COUNTY
INTERIM ZONING ORDINANCE, ORIGINALLY
6 ADOPTED JULY 6, 1972 AND AMENDED NOVEMBER
20, 1972, DECEMBER 11, 1972, FEBRUARY 8,
7 1973, APRIL 30, 1973, NOVEMBER 1, 8, AND
26, 1973, JULY 17, 1974, FEBRUARY 3, 1975,
8 JULY 6, 1977, AND JULY 32 1978 AND BY
AMENDING SECTIONS 2.24.660, 2.24.740 AND
9 2.24.770 OF THE WHATCOM COUNTY CODE.
10 THE WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL DOES ORDAIN:
11 Section 1.
12 idhatcom County Interim Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 2.24 Whatcom County
13 Code, is hereby amended to read as follows:
14 Section 2.
15 Section 2.24.660 paragraph .690. FEES.
16 .691 Each application for variance shall be accompanied by a fee
17 of seventy -five dollars ($75.00).
18 .692 Each application for a conditional use, or expansion of a non -
19 conforming use, shall be accompanied by a fee of one hundred
20 dollars ($100.00).
21 .693 Each simultaneous application for a variance and a conditional
22 use (or expansion of a non - conforming use) for the same prop-
23 erty shall be accompanied by a fee of one hundred dollars
24 0100.00).
25 .694 Each application for light impact industrial development per -
26 mit shall be accompanied by a fee of one hundred dollars
27 0100.00r.
28 .695 Each application for an appeal of an administrative decision
29 to the,jearing Examiner shall be accompanied by a fee of
30 twenty -five dollars ($25.00).
31 .696 Each application for a home occupation permit shall be ac-
32 companied by a fee of twenty -five dollars ($25.00).

.697 Each application for surface mining of soils, sand, gravel
and peat shall be accompanied by a fee of fifty dollars
($50.00).
Section 3.
Section 2.24.740 paragraphs .630, .631 and .638 are hereby amended
to read as follows:
.630 The following .fees shall be paid upon filing of any applica-
tion, request for development consultation, plan review and
processing of environmental impact statement (EIS).
.631 Rezone.
(1) Reclassification to S9.6, R -2, R -3, SR -3, SF -1,
R1A, R2A, RR2, SF -5, RS -3, S -2, S -1, R -5A, or
other similar zoning district .............$360.00
(2) Reclassification to F, AG, RF, or other similar
zoning district ... ........................$360.00
(3) Reclassification to RM or other similar zoning
district .......... ........................$360.00
(4) Reclassification to TC, GB, G, GP,,C, GC, TB,
or other similar zoning district ..........$480.00
(5) Reclassification to LI, A -1, A -2, 'LIID, SLM, HIID,
or other similar zoning district ..........$480.00
(6) If any of the above reclassifications require an
environmental impact statement (EIS), an additional
fee of $200.00 shall be required for processing of
the EIS. This fee is not part of the costs which
shall be required of .the applicant for the prepara-
tion of the EIS for the reclassification.
.638 All fees shall.be received by the Buildings and Code Administra
tion and shall be deposi�ed in. the appropriate expense fund.
Section 4.
Section 2.24.770 paragraph .742 is hereby amended to read as
follows:

.742 APPEALS TO COUNTY COUNCIL. The appelant shall file a written
notice of appeal within 10 days of the final decision and shall
serve notice of appeal upon all opponents of record, or appli-
cants, as the case may be. A fee of one hundred dollars ($100. 0)
shall be paid to the Bureau of Buildings and Code Administratio
upon filing of any appeal provided the appelant shall also pay
an additional fee equal the cost of transcripts upon completion
of the transcript. These fees should not apply to appeals
initiated by a County department.
