AN ORDTNi?MCE in the matter of
amending the zoning ordinance
to implement the 1979 Point
Roberts Supplement to the Co,.:nty
Comprehensive Plan.
WHEREAS, the Whatcora County Board o1.' County
Commissioners adopted the Point Roberts Plan on April 4, 1979
as a Supplement to the County ComprehensivE: Plans; �:ind
WHEREAS, a final declaration of nonsigni.ficance
was adopted May 1, 1979, by the Planning Department based on
a completed Environmental check list.; and
WHEREAS, on May 15, 1.979, the Planning Com-
mission recommended adoption of the amendment of the General
Protection District of the Zoning Ordinance WCC 2.24.510; and
WHEREAS, the County Council believes it is in
the public interest to adopt the following amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINI_':D AND L;STABLISI-I.ED as
follows:

Roberts Plan; arid
WHEREAS, a final declaration of nonsigni.ficance

mission recommended adoption of the amendment of the General

tised public hearing; on May 15, 1979 for the proposed r-
mendment per a Memorandum from the County Plannln 'p� Depa.rt-
ment dated April 7.3, 1979 (attached as Exhibit 4 of the
Planning Commission Hearing Record); and
WHEREAS, there was no opposition expre3se6 at the hearing
to this proposed amendment; and
WI-ii?REAS, a majority of Commission members are in attendance
at the hearing this 15th day of May, 1979 and .favor the
proposal per Exhibit 4; and
WHEREAS, a Final Declaration cif Non-- ,Si�;nifi.cance was adoppted
May 1, 1979 by the Planning Department based on a completed
Environmental Checklist.
NOW THIEREFORE BE 11' RESOLVED THAT THE PLANNING COMMISSION
' `'SERTS THE FOLLOWING PaNDINGS AND REASONS FOR ACT.IOIN:
1. Adoption of this amendment is in;the public interest in
`;hat the Comprehensive Plan; together with its supplement,
the Point Roberts Flan, will be Implemented by this action.
The proposal has the general support of the Point Roberts
community.
